Trying to define the Scope of elements in a project is a tough task that also involves bringing in various stakeholders to form an agreement.
planBIM's Scoper module is designed to streamline such procedures with a visual and collaborative approach.
The Scoper module has 4 major sections:
Overview
LOD Matrix
Model Progression Matrix
Reports
To navigate to the Scoper module,
Either click on the card as shown or hover over at the Scoper icon and select the section you want go to!
Scoper Overview is generally an outline of the project scope and project stakeholder responsibilities. It contains various details which can be adjusted or edited like the general settings for the LOD Matrix, the roles and scope of a company, the softwares used with their detailed specifications or even the responsibilities of team members within the project.
The LOD Matrix is a key tool that will help you specify the Level of Development for BIM in your project. You can define Geometrical Level of Detail (LOD), Level of Information (LOI) as well as Level of Accuracy (LOA) for different construction elements that you may want to specify for the scope of your project. These elements are classified on the basis of two AEC disciplines which are Generic Classification System and Omniclass Classification System. Every sub-category can also be assigned to different companies or users involved on the project using the tagging feature.
📓 Note:
In order to set LOA for an element, its LOD should be at 5 or 500 (depends on the Classification setting you have chosen)
This sub-module is designed by keeping in mind that the LOD assigned to the elements are in line with the various phases of your project. You can customize phases according to the project. The data of the LOD and Model Progression Matrices always remain synced. The Model Progression Matrix also features a drag & drop interface to facilitate easy planning.
planBIM provides the functionality to create a full fledged BIM Execution Plan and other types of documents using the DOCS module. However, many times, you just need to communicate a high-level scope to all stakeholders. This is enabled by the Reports section through which you can generate high-quality PDF or XLS outputs. These reports deliver a great amount of information which include the definitions of LOD, LOI and LOA per discipline and category. Also, they denote the various project phases and disciplines, along with the details specified in the Scoper overview section.
